About Selecting the Poets
In Paigaam we have selected a varity of poets and divided them in two catagories Classical and Contemporary. We know that poetry and poets can not be divided om the basis of time and they are not limited to their time, they live much longer than their physical life this fact explains why Ghalib is still relevent and still popular with masses. But at the same time it is our compultion to make two groups of poets born before 1900 AD and after 1900 AD so that reades can easily choose and read the poets of present time and poets who lived before. this will definalely help them to understand the poetry in a better way and find out the context in which it is/was written.
While selecting poets not alive our criteria is availability of poetry and of course availability of time on our part on the other hand while selecting living poets we publish the ghazals sent by the poet, we include all good poetry sent via e-mail, free of cost. But in both the cases only good quality poetry is included in paigaam.
